Overview
Description
Years before the Mormon settlers arrived in the valley, General William H. Ashley stopped near what is now the edge of Hyrum Reservoir and cached $150,000 worth of furs, mostly beaver, in the winter of 1825-26. They were stored in a cave dug in a clay bank until they were retrieved the following summer. This history resulted in the French-Canadian name of Cache Valley and Cache County. Tucked away in Cache County, Hyrum State Park offers many recreation opportunities including fishing, boating, and camping. Surrounded by tall, shady trees, Hyrum provides an excellent place for an afternoon picnic, or spend the whole weekend trolling on the lake catching yellow perch, rainbow trout, bluegill, and largemouth bass.

The park like 32 site campground rests at the north end of the reservoir.

The park is a favorite with locals. Attractions less than 15 minutes from the park include Utah State University, Logan Mormon Temple, scenic mountains and year-round blue ribbon fishing streams. Hardware Ranch, a winter feed elk ranch, is 16 miles from the park up beautiful Blacksmith Fork Canyon.

CancellationsCancellations are accepted online 24 hours a day, seven days a week, or by calling our Reservation Call Center Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Mountain Time)
Individual site cancellations made four days or more in advance of your scheduled arrival incur an $8.00 cancellation fee in addition to the $8.00 reservation fee. Cancellations made less than four days in advance forfeit one night's fee in addition to the cancellation and reservation fees.
Group area cancellations made 14 days or more in advance of your scheduled arrival incur an $8.00 cancellation fee in addition to the $10.25 reservation fee. Cancellations made less than 14 days in advance forfeit one night's fee in addition to the cancellation and reservation fees.
Please Note: Reservations cannot be cancelled during the Change Freeze Policy period.
Changes: Changes to an existing reservation can be made online 24 hours a day, seven days a week, or by calling our Reservation Call Center Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Changes incur a $5.75 change fee per site per change.
Please note existing reservations cannot be changed during the Change Freeze Policy period.
Change Freeze Policy: Reservations that are booked with nights extending beyond the Maximum Window cannot be Changed or Cancelled for 21 days after the transaction was made.
Refunds: Refunds for cancelled reservations will be made by issuing a credit to the card used for payment. Refunds are not given for bugs or bad weather. In the event of a natural emergency or a sudden campground closure, all camping fees will be refunded.
No Show and Late Arrival: Failure to occupy your reserved campsite by 10 a.m. on the day after the scheduled arrival date will make it available for use by other campers. If you plan to arrive late, or experience a delay, please contact the park to make arrangements.
Most parks have entrance gates that are locked at 10:00 PM (check online or call the park for exact gate closure times). Please plan to arrive prior to gate closure.
Campsite Limits: Only one vehicle is allowed entrance per individual campsite with a reservation. An extra vehicle in your site, space permitting, will be charged an additional fee per night. These fees vary park by park (roughly half the camping fee). For specific information on extra vehicle accommodations or fees please contact the park directly.
Credit Card on File: Reservations for Yurts, Cabins, Tiny Homes and/or Cottages will require a Credit Card on File in case of Damages or additional cleaning fees.
