Description
Fremont Indian State Park and Museum was established to preserve a treasury of rock art and archaeological sites. The museum visitor center offers a video program introducing visitors to the Fremont Indians.
Geography:
Pathways, one accessible for the physically challenged, lead visitors into legend and history depicted through pictographs and petroglyphs and other cultural and historic resources.
Recreation:
Camping, picnicking, visitor center/museum, fishing, wildlife viewing. Twelve interpretive rock art trails (one wheelchair accessible). ATV trail head access, 15 miles hiking/biking trails.
Facilities:
Museum is open daily and offers a up close look at the artifacts collected from the area. The Sam Stowe Campground offers 7 full hook-up sites with water ,power 30/50, and sewer. The area also has a large over night Group Site that will accommodate groups with a pavilion and RV power hook ups. The Castle Rock campground is nestled in a canyon approximately One-half mile from the visitor center. It offers a flush toilet and running fresh drinking water at various location in the campground.

- Cancellations are accepted online 24 hours a day, seven days a week or by calling the Reservation Call Center Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Mountain Time)
Individual site cancellations made four days or more in advance of your scheduled arrival incur an $8 cancellation fee in addition to the $8 reservation fee. Cancellations made less than four days in advance forfeit one night's fee in addition to the cancellation and reservation fees.
Group area cancellations made 14 days or more in advance of your scheduled arrival incur an $8 cancellation fee in addition to the $10.25 reservation fee. Cancellations made less than 14 days in advance forfeit one night's fee in addition to the cancellation and reservation fees.
Changes to an existing reservation can only be made by contacting the Reservation Call Center. Changes can be made up to two days prior to your scheduled arrival date and incur a $5 change fee per site.
